2003 saw the first feature film production of “The Plague” (2004), which went on to pick up three awards, screened two years at international festivals, and a UK cinematic and commercial release. Most importantly it gained a strong following amongst audiences, glowing write-ups, and support from many well-established filmmakers.
This gave Prodigal the leverage and strength to continue in the independent vein and 2006 was the realisation of our second feature film “Kapital” (2007). Funded by the newly established Manchester International Festival, it was a co-commission with world-renowned composer Steve Martland, as a film to music project. “Kapital” will premiere on the 4th July to an audience of international and national press, and will screen alongside the work of some of the Worlds greatest living artists, it will then be screening at international film festivals seeking distribution.
Over the past few years Prodigal Productions has also been developing the script for our third feature film and we are currently securing funding.
